FINALS!
Men’s grand final saw the favourites Bulls take on Bruce Rock. As expected the match was a physical one with the men going all in to fight for the ball. Bulls seemed to be the smarter ones enabling their shots to convert on the score board to be leading at half time, 9 to 5. This only fired Bruce Rock up more with Gav Brownley coming out firing with a few 3 pointers. Unfortunately Bulls were unable to keep the momentum going and Bruce Rock took over winning 24 to 19.

In the most nail biting match of the night, Mustangs and Bulls go head to head in a close match. Bulls have yet to lose a game this season but the strength of Mustangs was consistent throughout the night. At half time Mustangs lead by 3 points, Bulls brought it all in the second half. At the final buzzer Mustangs were ahead by 3 however Mustangs fouled Bulls on the 3 point line. Unfortunately Bulls did not have it in them to get all 3 free throws in and enabling Mustangs to win by 1 point. Best players went to Clorie Wagas, Devon Lee and Allan Howard
Titans pulled out their whole team to ensure a win against Tropics to win. 44 to 23 with best players going to Gaz Anderson, Michael Egglestone and Paul Boehme
Bruce Rock saw another lose this week against Nukarni, 30 to 21. Best players were Chris Paltia, Will Morris and Brandon Crouch
Barbarians were a few players short this week but this could not stop them from comfortably winning over Ladz, 45 to 28. Best players were Scott Cooper, Sean Dunn and Tom Hooper

Thursday 13th December
The second last round before the Christmas break and for some teams it can’t come quick enough, the Tropics took on the Ladz and the Ladz won convincingly 43 to 12 with best players being Leighton Trunfio, Jason Musca and Sean Dunn. Bruce Rock beat the Mustangs 47 to 30 with the better players being Ashton Hayden, Clarie Wagas and J.R Gamiao.
Barbarians and Nukarni had a very close game with the game being decided by free throws unfortunately Nukarni had three after the siren and couldn’t even hit one of them. Barbarians won 28 to 27 best players were Simon Crees, Will Morris and Mark Maloney.
The Bulls continued there good form and are still unbeaten with a win over the Titans 35 to 15 best players were Adam Close, Eddie Mearns and Corey Nelson.

Bruce Rock took on the Ladz and were beaten 55 to 35 with best players being Leighton Trunfio, Gavin Brownley and Marshell Crook. The Bulls continued there good form with a comfortable win over the Tropics with the score being 46 to 17 best players were Eddy Mearns, Allan Franich and Russell Roberts.
In the 830 games saw Titans and Nukarni go head to head with titans winning 34 to 27 with best players being Gary Anderson, Gam Alvaro and James Franklin. Barbarians took on the Mustangs and won 41 to 22 best players were Simon Crees, Hayden Barnes and Mark Moloney.

In the Mens competition saw Barbarians too good over the Titans 46 to 32 with the best players being Simon Crees, Scott Cooper and Shaun Baker. The Mustangs took on the Ladz with the Ladz winning 38 to 34 best players were C Wagas, Leighton Trunfio and Jason Musca.
In the top of the table clash saw Bulls and Bruce Rock go head to head with Bulls winning 33 to 27 the best players were Michael Priestley, Gavin Brownley and J.R Gamio. Nukarni were too good for the Tropics beating them 37 to 15 best players were David Hayes-Thompson, Michael Eggleston and Will Morris.

The Undefeated Bulls went up against the young Mustangs and won 26 to 22 with Allen Franich continuing his good form and picking up votes the other vote getters were Claris Wagas and Mathew Musca. The Titans continued there good form with a win against the Tropics 41 to 19 with Gary Anderson being the best player on the night but Adrian Irving was not far behind after having his best game for the year James Lavers was tropic best player.
The Barbarians and Ladz took each other on with barbarians winning comfortably 38 to 16 Simon Crees, Leighton Trunfio and Scott Cooper were the better players. In what was the closet game for the night was Nukarni and Bruce Rock after full time they were all square so overtime they went to. After Overtime Bruce Rock won 37 to 36 Best Players were Kane Swartz, Gavin Brownley and Gam Alvaro.

Last Thursday was the 5th round of the basketball association and we saw some good games in both men’s and women’s competition. Bulls are still undefeated after beating Ladz 44 to 24 with best players being Adam Close, Cameron Haines and Russell Roberts. Barbarians continued their good form with a win against the Tropics 34 to 23 best players were S Crees, Micheal Eggelston and Scott Cooper.
Nukarni and Mustangs went head to head with Nukarni comfortably beating Mustangs 46 to 26 best players were Claris Waggas, Michael Sharp and Kane Swartz. In last game for the night in the mens competition saw the Titans take on Bruce Rock with Titans breaking Bruce Rock’s winning streak. 34 to 15 best players were Paul Boehmen, AJ Williams and Nigel Bush.

The Men’s competition saw Bruce Rock easily defeat Mustangs 31 to 11 the best players were Gavin Brownley, James Lindroth and Coycoy Wagas. The Ladz took on the Tropics and beat them 56 to 28 with best playing being Leighton Trunfio, Marshall Crook and Matt Baltovich.
The Bulls took on the Titians and in a very close game saw the Bulls win 25 to 23 best players were Allan Franich, Corey Nelson and Gary Anderson. The Barbarians beat Nukarni 33 to 20 beat players were Tom Hooper, Scott Cooper and C Palta.

Welcome back to another season of basketball, it was good to see so many men’s and women’s team entered again this year! Good luck to all players and teams.

Last Thursday saw an exciting game between Barbarians and Mustangs, this game ended in a draw at the final siren and went to overtime which saw the Barbarians win 38 to 29. Best players Scotty Coops, Coycoy Wagas and Hayden Barnes.
In another match saw Bulls take on Tropics with the Bulls winning, 36 to 18. Best players Eddy Mearns, Adam Close and Russell Roberts. The new teams Bruce Rock took on the Ladz with Bruce Rock winning 30 to 28 in a close game. Best players were Leighton Trunfio, Gavin Brownley and Marshall Crook.
In the last match saw last year’s grand final replay between Nukarni and Titans with Nukarni easily defeating the Titans 36 to 15. Best players were Michael Sharp, Will Morris and Corey Nelson.
