Community Resource Centres (CRCs) are locally owned and operated. They provide a wide array of information and community-based services to local people, businesses and visitors throughout regional Western Australia.
Each CRC caters for different needs in their community but overall they are committed to developing regional communities and connecting the people of Western Australia. They provide training and education programs, access to business facilities, and information on community events and government services.
Merredin CRC is restricted with the additional services it can offer, as CRCs are not permitted to compete with existing local businesses within the town, such as the Central Wheatbelt Visitor Centre, Merredin Regional Library, Shire of Merredin, Copier Support, Newsagency and the Merredin Wheatbelt Mercury.
For this reason the Committee and Staff at the Merredin CRC have been looking at other opportunities that may benefit the community.
